Can Chinese Knockoffs - Clones Put Iphone And Ipod Features In Pocket For A Quarter Of The Price

No doubt Apple's Iphone and various Ipods are on the top of most wish lists - both for adults and kids. The products are undoubtedly innovative, advanced, popular and expensive.

Undoubtedly, like any new technology (think cell phones and DVDs), the price of these sought after Apple products will eventually come down, but that could take years. Many consumers would like to try and enjoy the Iphone and Ipod features and technology without waiting for Apple to lower prices and without being forced to use Iphone's expensive AT&T provider plan, or being forced to pay $1 a song downloading from Itunes.

Enter Chinese Ipod and Iphone knock offs. China has progressed from making the US' cheap, throw away goods to today creating viable alternatives to the US' most coveted technological brands. If you've not yet seen the Ipod / Iphone knockoffs and assume that they are cheap and chintzy, you might be in for a surprise. If you have a look at the videos floating around on Utube, you'll see that these Chinese knockoffs give the real products a run for the money for not only the cost of buying the product, but the I clones allow you to use your own cell phone and music download carriers - saving you tons of money on both the initial purchase and the monthly charges.

Chinese Iphone / The "I clone": The most popular of the clones - the CECT P168 - in fact looks so much like the Iphone you literally have to squint and turn your head sideways to see a true difference. It even has the same wallpaper. The Clone has all of the features we love in the iPhone - the flat, touch screen, Bluetooth, the ability to browse the net, watch movies and video, and listen to music, but the P168 also boasts things the Iphone doesn't have. It allows you to use whatever cell participating phone carrier you wish (most all U.S. carriers) and it features two Sim slots - so you no longer need to carry two phones (one for business - one for surfing) on you. The Clone also has more speakers than the Iphone - 6 and it has a removable battery, which is the major shortcoming of the Iphone. On a good day, The CECT P168 can be had for around $100-$130 - brand new with warranty, on eBay.

Chinese Touch screen Ipod: The Digital Touch DT-1: You'll find many of these Iphone inspired MP3 players on eBay, most running around $90. The DT-1 is a Portable Media Player that looks suspiciously like the Iphone - with a large multi-touch screen and touch icons. The gadget has 1GB ram (expandable to 4), and allows you surf and enjoy your music, videos, photos and favorite radio stations. You're not limited to Itunes but can get your media wherever you like.

The bottom line is these very convincing knock offs just might be a very cheap way to try technology while waiting for the real versions to come down in price. These are also great alternatives for kids desperate for Ifeatures who have parents who aren't willing to shell out high prices on items a kid might well lose.
